There are just some things that come across as appropos of the location.  This even could really have happened most anywhere, but something about the dramatic flair of setting one’s ex-husband’s penis afire while he sits watching TV and drinking vodka immediately queues the melancholy Muscovite mandolin music in my head. 

And then there is the accidental (or so we presume) humor of the following direct quote from the Reuters article:

Woman sets fire to ex-husband’s penis | Oddly Enough | Reuters

The attack climaxed three years of acrimonious enforced co-habitation.

Climaxed.  What a choice of words.  Hmm. . . Does this whole affair remind you of some kind of song? What could that be?. . . .
