Congress offers coupons to ease Digital TV transition

Congress has mandated that February 17, 2009 will be the last day for full-power television stations to broadcast in analog. After that, “rabbit ear” televisions will require a digital-to-analog converter box to watch over-the-air digital broadcasts.

To help with the transition, every U.S. household is eligible to receive up to two coupons, worth $40 each, toward the purchase of eligible digital-to-analog converter boxes.

I am glad they offer coupons, especially for elder folks! And I had no idea about the recycling bit! Cool!
