South Dakota Oil to Make Us Energy Independent?

Next Energy News is reporting that a massive deposit of oil, until now unnoticed, is sitting under South Dakota and could help us sever our ties to the Middle East oil fields.  Wonder why this hasn’t been bigger news, eh?

If they just found it, it will take 4 years before it will produce any oil. Not to mention the tree hugging hippies most likely don’t want us to go get it, because it may disturb the mating habits of the spiders.

Dustin, speaking as one of those “tree hugging hippies,” I can say that yes, if there are consequences too great, I would oppose drilling. But if you think the ANWAR fight has only to do with us “tree huggers,” you clearly haven’t been checking the numbers. This may not be ANWAR: it may have a real chance at producing oil.

Since I’m from SoDak, I did a Google search on “Next Energy” + “South Dakota” and nothing came up at all……….

Hmm, this sounds like someone setting up another penny stock scam:

“Get in on the ground floor now!”
“Your chance to be rich as Getty!”
