Getting a grass roots campaign going is hard. Getting a net roots campaign started is even harder, especially when the justification for your own candidacy is so untenable. So, rather than appeal to your supporters’ ability to think for themselves (which isn’t always a reasonable appeal), why not encourage them to go pollute the Internet with talking points manufactured by your campaign staff?
